The Electric Power Research Institute focuses on research related to the Electric Power Industry. In the Nuclear Field, they focus primarily on Advanced Reactor Design, Small Modular Reactors, Accident Tolerant Fuels, and Used Fuel Storage and Disposal.
General Atomics is a privately owned defense contractor, specializing in research and manufacturing of technology ranging from the nuclear field to the aerospace field. General Atomics will be presenting on current and past projects including the central solenoid of ITER, holoraums for inertial confinement fusion, and its advanced reactor, the Energy Multiplier Module. Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is a DOE National Laboratory that grew out of a Cold War Era experiment in 1961. The lab mainly focuses on research concerning Plasma Physics and Nuclear Fusion. The main topic for this presentation is their National Spherical Torus Experiment which is a innovative Magnetic Confinement Fusion device which utilizes a spherical torus design instead of the traditional Toroid design. Berkeley American Nuclear Society is hosting a Resume Night on Thursday 10/6/2016 from 6:30-8:00pm in 3108 Etcheverry Hall. Come with your laptop and your resume to get advice from older members in ANS.
