Davis Cyclotron / TRIGA Reactor Tour 12/9/16

On December 9, 2016 right at the end of Dead Week for the Fall Semester some of our students took an educational study break up to Davis. While we were up there, we went on a tour of both the UC Davis Cyclotron and the McClellan Nuclear Research Center’s TRIGA reactor. For some of us, this was our first time seeing a reactor of any scale and it was simply beautiful. The cyclotron is also used amazingly during a couple of weeks of the year as an eye cancer treatment center with a near 100% cure rate!
